About Black Girl Joy Initiative
"Black Girl Joy", written by Phanesia Pharel, is a script greatly inspired by Lotus House Women's Shelter (www.lotushouse.org), "a center for innovation, best practices, service driven research, shared learning, and development of public and social policies to advance the status of women, youth and children to prevent and end homelessness." Produced by Egg & Spoon Theatre Collective (www.eggandspoontheatre.org) and co-produced by viBe Theater Experience (www.vibetheater.org) as part of Egg & Spoon’s Incubation Series at WP Theater, this fundraiser is dedicated to supporting the organizations that have uplifted this program that's devoted to the development of important works of theatre, written by Black, indigenous, and writers of color as they change the course of the American theatrical canon.
